Base Units

The SI system of units has 7 base units, from which all other units are derived:

relationship between the pase units
QuantityUnitabbreviationDefining Physical Constant
length metre

m

speed light in vacuo, c
mass kilogram kg planck's constant, h
time second s caesium standard, ΔvCs
temperature kelvin K boltzmann constant, kB
